Nara

Stepping into Nara, you're first greeted by deer and the bustle of tourists. World Heritage sites like Todaiji and Kasuga Taisha line the streets, crowded with school trips and foreign visitors during the day. But at night, the atmosphere shifts. Nara is strongly a tourist destination, and there is no real red-light district.

Around Kintetsu Nara Station and JR Nara Station, you'll find izakayas and bars scattered about, but no concentrated adult entertainment area. Adult venues exist as isolated shops in residential neighborhoods or along main roads away from the station.

Nara's adult scene is extremely small: a few soaplands and maybe a dozen delivery health shops. Fashion health and pink salons are almost nonexistent. Prices are slightly lower than in Osaka or Kyoto, but options are limited. There are only 2–3 soaplands in Nara City, all in inconspicuous locations.

Delivery health services dispatch to hotels, but the number of working girls is small. Japanese language is the norm, and acceptance of foreign customers varies by shop. Don't expect English or Chinese support.

If you want to use adult services in Nara, calling ahead is mandatory. Foreigners are often turned away, so you need to be able to book in Japanese. Also, many shops are far from stations, so taxis are practical.

Nara is primarily for sightseeing. It's not worth visiting just for adult entertainment. If you really need it, consider going to Osaka or Kyoto instead.
