Nakasu

Step into Nakasu and the neon lights reflect off the river, the night heat clinging to your skin. The smell of street stalls mixes with the chatter of drunk patrons, hitting you with the full force of Fukuoka's largest entertainment district.

The area is a narrow strip of land between the Nakagawa and Hakata rivers, with the main street running north-south. High-end clubs and bars line the western Nakagawa side, while the adult district spreads through the eastern alleys. Access is a few minutes' walk from Nakasu-Kawabata subway station.

The adult venues are concentrated in the eastern backstreets. There are about 30 soaplands, numerous delivery health services, over a dozen pink salons, and a few SM clubs. Soapland prices start around ¥20,000 for 60 minutes, delivery health from ¥10,000—slightly cheaper than Tokyo. Pink salons offer quick, affordable fun.

More shops are catering to foreign tourists, with some soaplands and delivery health services offering English support. However, you may be turned away if you don't speak Japanese, so check in advance. SM clubs have a bigger language barrier due to specialized play.

Weekday nights are best to visit; weekends are crowded with local office workers. The alleys stay bright late into the night, but watch out for pickpockets and trouble. Some shops charge separate entrance or option fees, so confirm the pricing beforehand.

Nakasu represents Fukuoka's nightlife, but for adult entertainment, head to the eastern alleys. Many soaplands require reservations. Delivery health is typically called to a hotel, and love hotels are plentiful nearby.
