Ichinomiya

Exit the west side of JR Ichinomiya Station, and narrow alleys stretch along the railway tracks. By day it's an ordinary shopping street, but at night neon signs light up and adult venue signs become prominent. Local office workers and tourists mingle, giving the area a lively feel.

The main area is within a 5-minute walk from the station, with small shops packed into back alleys. Ichinomiya is easily accessible from Nagoya in 15 minutes by train and is known as a locally oriented adult district.

The adult scene centers on delivery health and pink salons. Delivery health shops are numerous around the station, with rates around ¥10,000 for 60 minutes. Pink salons offer quick, casual fun, starting at about ¥5,000 for 30 minutes. Soaplands and hotel health are almost nonexistent.

Shops are small, often with a mom-and-pop feel. Foreigner-friendly services are limited; not speaking Japanese can be tough. However, more shops are starting to welcome foreigners.

Access is easy via JR Ichinomiya Station. From Nagoya, take the Tokaido Main Line (rapid service takes 15 minutes). The main area is just outside the west exit. Weekday evenings are best; weekends get crowded.

Note that while the area is relatively safe, you may be approached by scouts or touts. Ignore them and head straight to your destination. Delivery health usually requires a hotel room, so booking a love hotel in advance is recommended.
