Toyokawa

Step out of Toyokawa Station and you're met with the calm atmosphere of a regional city. A few taxis wait in the station rotary, and chain restaurants and convenience stores dot the area. Foot traffic thins at night, but a handful of adult shops operate within walking distance of the station.

Geographically, shops are scattered on both the east and west sides of Toyokawa Station. The east exit has many business hotels, while the west exit leads into residential areas. Most shops are a 5- to 10-minute walk from the station, with discreet signage often blending into ordinary multi-tenant buildings.

Toyokawa's adult scene centers on delivery health (deliheru) and hotel health (hoteheru). Delivery health sends girls to your home or hotel; hotel health uses partner hotels. With fewer than ten shops, it's a small scene. Rates run ¥10,000–¥20,000 per 60 minutes, slightly cheaper than Nagoya or Toyohashi.

There are no pink salons or soaplands, and SM clubs or erotic massage shops are almost nonexistent. The clientele is mostly local men, and there's no flashy marketing for tourists. Some shops may accept foreigners, but you should check in advance.

Access: about 1 hour from Nagoya on the JR Tokaido Main Line, or 15 minutes from Toyohashi. Parking near the station is limited, so driving isn't recommended. Most shops open from evening until late night; many are closed during the day.

For foreign visitors, not speaking Japanese often means being turned away. Shops with English support are extremely rare. It's best to go with a Japanese-speaking companion or call/email ahead. Also, delivery health usually requires a hotel room; home delivery may be refused.
