Futsukaichi

Futsukaichi is a hot spring town in Chikushino City, about 20 minutes by train from Fukuoka City. The shopping street near the station has a nostalgic feel, dotted with traditional inns and day-trip bathhouses. At night, foot traffic dwindles and the area becomes quiet.

The adult entertainment district is a 10-minute walk from the station, tucked away in a residential area with discreet signage. A handful of soaplands operate here, clustered together. The scale is small, with no flashy neon or touts.

Futsukaichi's soaplands are known as 'onsen soaps,' with some shops incorporating hot spring facilities. Prices range from ¥15,000 to ¥25,000 for 60 minutes, slightly cheaper than in Fukuoka City. Due to the limited number of shops, advance research is essential.

Foreign tourists are rare here, and most shops only serve Japanese-speaking customers. English or Chinese support is not available. Entry usually requires communication in Japanese.

Access is on foot from JR Futsukaichi Station or Nishitetsu Futsukaichi Station. If driving, there are coin parking lots nearby. Business hours are generally from early afternoon until late night.

This is a low-key, locally oriented area. It's not a place to stumble upon while sightseeing; you need a specific purpose. It suits those who want to combine a visit with hot springs, but may be challenging for beginners.
