Koga/Chikusei Area

The Koga/Chikusei area is a quiet region in southwestern Ibaraki Prefecture, surrounded by farmland. The station fronts have small shopping streets, but shutters come down early and foot traffic is sparse at night.

Geographically, Koga sits on the border with Tochigi Prefecture, centered around JR Utsunomiya Line and Tohoku Shinkansen's Koga Station. Chikusei is served by the Kanto Railway Joso Line, with Shimodate Station as its main hub. Both are about 1.5 hours from Tokyo, functioning largely as bedroom communities.

The adult entertainment scene here is almost entirely delivery health (deliheru) and hotel health (hoteheru). There are no storefront soaplands, fashion health, pink salons, or SM clubs. Deliheru typically uses love hotels near the stations, with rates around ¥12,000–18,000 for 60 minutes—slightly cheaper than central Tokyo.

Hotel health operates in partner hotels and tends to be a bit pricier. However, the number of shops is limited, and options are few. Most are small-scale operations catering to local men, and few actively welcome foreign tourists.

Access is about 1.5 hours by train from Tokyo, or by car via the Joban Expressway or Route 4. Weekends see more shops open than weeknights, but it's wise to call or check websites in advance. English support is nearly nonexistent, so if you don't speak Japanese, bring a companion or pre-arrange with a shop that can accommodate you.
