Takamachi

Step into the alleys of Takamachi, and you'll find neon lights flickering here and there in a quiet residential area. By day it's an ordinary shopping street, but at night soapland signs become prominent.

A 10-minute walk south from Takaoka Station. Adult shops are scattered along the east-west streets centered on the Takamachi intersection. The area is compact and easy to navigate.

Soaplands are the main draw here. About 10 shops cluster together, with rates ranging from ¥15,000 to ¥20,000 per hour. A few delivery health services also operate, dispatching to hotels. Pink salons and erotic massage are almost nonexistent.

Shops are small-scale with limited rosters. The clientele is mostly local regulars, and flashy tourist-oriented services are rare. Many shops are difficult to access without Japanese.

Weekday nights are the best time to visit. Weekends get crowded with locals. Using a hotel near the station makes it convenient to call a delivery health service.

A word of caution: English support is virtually nonexistent. Prepare some basic Japanese or a translation app. Also, some shops may refuse foreign customers, so check in advance.
