Overall, the number of shops is small, and the scale is modest. The clientele is mostly local regulars rather than tourists. English support is almost nonexistent. If you don't speak Japanese, check with the shop beforehand or find one that accommodates foreigners.

Access from Tokyo takes about an hour by limited express. If you stay at a hotel near Mito Station, you can walk to the adult district. Business hours vary, but soaplands typically run from afternoon to late night, pink salons from evening to late night.
