Sendai Kokubuncho

Kokubuncho is within walking distance from Sendai Station and is Tohoku's premier entertainment district. By day it's a business area, but at night neon lights up, and restaurants and adult venues crowd the streets. Touts and signs are prominent, giving the area a lively atmosphere.

Geographically, it's about a 10-minute walk from the west exit of Sendai Station. The core area lies between Aoba-dori and Hirose-dori, along Higashi-Nibancho-dori. Side streets are dense with small shops, creating a maze-like layout.

As an adult district, there are about 20 soaplands, numerous delivery health and hotel health services, plus fashion health and pink salons. Prices are slightly lower than Tokyo: soaplands start around ¥20,000 per hour, delivery health from ¥10,000 per hour.

Stores catering to foreign tourists are limited, but English-friendly shops are increasing. However, if approached by touts, it's best not to decide immediately and check the store's information first.

Access: 10-minute walk from Sendai Station, or 3 minutes from Kotodai Koen Station on the Nanboku Subway Line. Most shops operate until midnight, though hours vary.

Note that Kokubuncho has relatively strict police enforcement. Beware of illegal shops and overcharging; choose legitimate venues. Some shops may refuse service if you don't speak Japanese, so learning a few basic phrases is helpful.
