Walking through the nightlife area near Nagaoka Station, the neon lights are sparse. This is the inland region of Niigata Prefecture, covering Nagaoka and Sanjo. It's not flashy like Tokyo or Niigata City, but there's a quiet red-light district where local men gather.

A few minutes on foot from the east exit of Nagaoka Station, down a side street off the main road, you'll find a handful of soaplands. In the Sanjo area, delivery health and pink salon signs stand out in multi-tenant buildings near the station. Both cities are car-oriented, so shops are scattered around stations and along suburban roads.

The core of the adult scene is soaplands, with rates ranging from ¥15,000 to ¥20,000 for 60 minutes. Delivery health mainly dispatches to hotels, starting around ¥10,000 for 30 minutes. Pink salons offer short, cheap sessions—about ¥3,000 for 10 minutes. SM clubs and erotic massage are almost nonexistent.

Shop counts are small: about 20 in Nagaoka, fewer than 10 in Sanjo. Foreigner-friendly options are limited; you may be turned away if you don't speak Japanese. Most shops cater to locals and business travelers rather than tourists.

Access: about 2 hours from Tokyo by Shinkansen. Nagaoka Station has many business hotels within walking distance of the red-light area. Sanjo is 15 minutes away by local train. If driving, many shops have parking.
