Tonmachi

Exit Nagaoka Station's east exit and walk a few minutes along the main street; you'll enter the alleys of Tonmachi, where neon signs flicker sparsely. This is one of Niigata Prefecture's notable red-light districts, bustling late into the night with local office workers and visitors.

The area spans a 5-10 minute walk from Nagaoka Station, with shops clustered on quiet streets just off the main thoroughfare. Many izakaya and snack bars line the area, so it's common for people to drop by after a night of drinking.

Tonmachi's adult scene consists mainly of soaplands and delivery health (deliheru). There are about ten soaplands clustered together, with prices starting from around ¥10,000 for 30 minutes—relatively affordable. Delivery health services are even more numerous, typically dispatching girls to hotels. Fashion health and pink salons are almost nonexistent here.

Shops tend to be small-scale, focusing on budget-friendly options rather than high-end establishments. Most operate with a local customer base, so regulars outnumber tourists. English support is nearly nonexistent, but if you speak Japanese, you'll manage fine.

Access is easy on foot from Nagaoka Station. If driving, coin parking is available nearby, but watch out for drinking and driving. Operating hours vary by shop, but soaplands generally open from early afternoon until late night, while delivery health services operate until the early morning.

This area is relatively unknown to foreign tourists, making it a hidden spot for experiencing local adult entertainment. However, without Japanese language skills, it can be challenging—bring a translation app or learn a few basic phrases before visiting.
