Walking down Kitahama's streets, steam from hot springs mingles with neon signs glowing softly. This is the heart of Beppu's entertainment district, bustling with tourists by day but showing a different face at night.

The area is within walking distance from Beppu Station, with Kitahama Park and Beppu Tower as landmarks. Restaurants and souvenir shops line the streets, with adult venues tucked in between.

The adult scene centers on soaplands, with over a dozen densely packed. Prices range from ¥20,000 to ¥50,000 per hour, from high-end to budget. Delivery health services also operate a few shops, dispatching to hotels. Pink salons and erotic massages are rare.

Most shops open from evening to late night, many closed during the day. Foreign visitors may face language barriers, but more shops are becoming accommodating.

Access is a 10-minute walk from Beppu Station. Coin parking is available nearby. The area is liveliest after 8 PM. Locals often combine hot springs with adult entertainment.

Note: Some soaplands claim membership-only, but most accept walk-ins. However, not speaking Japanese may lead to refusal, so calling ahead is wise.
