Tobu Utsunomiya

Stepping out of Tobu Utsunomiya Station, you're greeted by the calm atmosphere typical of a regional city. Pass through the rotary in front of the station and head towards the entertainment district on the east side; neon signs gradually increase. This is another face of Utsunomiya—a locally rooted adult entertainment district.

The area is compact, within a 5-minute walk from the station's east exit. Adult shops line the alleys just off the main street. There are many restaurants and izakayas nearby, bustling with office workers and locals at night.

The adult scene here centers on delivery health and fashion health. Delivery health mainly sends girls to hotels, with many shops operating as hotel health. Prices range from ¥12,000 to ¥18,000 for 60 minutes, reasonable compared to the Tokyo area. Fashion health shops are storefront type, located in multi-tenant buildings near the station.

There are about 30 to 40 shops, with moderate density. There are few flashy touts or barkers; the atmosphere is subdued. Regular local customers are the norm, and there are no excessive services aimed at tourists. English-friendly shops are limited, but if you speak Japanese, you'll be fine.

Access is a short walk from Tobu Utsunomiya Station, the terminus of the Tobu Utsunomiya Line. From JR Utsunomiya Station, it's a 15-minute walk or 5 minutes by bus. Most shops are open from 8 PM to midnight. Weekends are crowded, so visiting on weekdays is recommended.

Advice for foreign visitors: If you don't speak Japanese, point to the price list displayed at the shop entrance. For delivery health, some shops require you to arrange a hotel, so check in advance. Also, street touting is prohibited by local rules, so feel free to ignore anyone who calls out to you.
