Central Kumamoto stretches between Kumamoto Castle and JR Kumamoto Station, and the Shimotori arcade is known as the town's busy street at night. This page covers the ordinance, getting there by Shinkansen and airport bus, and how the site divides the prefecture.

Central Kumamoto spreads along the right bank of the Shirakawa, from around Kumamoto Castle in the north to around JR Kumamoto Station in the south. The city plans it as "two cores, three malls": the Torimachi and Sakuramachi/Hanabata shopping cores, joined by the Kamitori, Shimotori and Shinshigai arcades.
Kumamoto's tourism site describes the Shimotori arcade, 510 m long and 15 m wide, as the biggest shopping arcade in Kumamoto and the town's busy street at night. It adds that many bars and izakaya stay open until late.
Article 28 of the Entertainment Business Act bans storefront sex-related businesses within 200 metres of schools, libraries, child welfare facilities and other facilities a prefecture names by ordinance. Prefectures may also ban them in areas they designate, so where they may operate in Kumamoto is set by the prefectural ordinance.
Walk-in formats such as soaplands can operate only where the ordinance allows them. Delivery health is an outcall format used at a hotel or another place you choose; for outcall venues the area usually marks the reception or base, and the range they cover differs by venue.
According to JR Kyushu, the Kyushu Shinkansen links Kumamoto with Hakata in 32 minutes at the fastest and with Shin-Osaka in 3 hours on direct trains. From Aso Kumamoto Airport the limousine bus takes about 50 minutes to Torichosuji, 55 to Kumamoto Sakuramachi Bus Terminal and 65 to Kumamoto Station; the special rapid buses are quicker.
This site splits Kumamoto into two major areas, Kumamoto City and Kumamoto and others. Kumamoto City holds Lower Street, New Downtown, Ken Gun, Kikuchi/Otsu, Hanabatake and Ueki; Kumamoto and others holds Matsubashi and Uto/Uki.
It depends on the venue. Each venue page lists the languages it handles, and the “English OK” filter in search narrows results to venues with English support.
Payment methods vary by venue. Check the listing and confirm with the venue before booking.
