Yanagase & Tamamiya

Yanagase and Tamamiya is a local adult entertainment district in central Gifu City. By day it's a regular shopping street, but at night neon signs light up and adult businesses open. It's more of a down-to-earth area for local men than a tourist spot.

The area spans Yanagase Shopping Street and Tamamiya-cho, within walking distance from Gifu Station. Buses and taxis also provide access. Many restaurants and izakayas are mixed in with the adult venues.

The main adult category here is fashion health. Dozens of storefront fashion health shops are concentrated in the area, with prices around ¥10,000 for 30 minutes. Delivery health is also common, mostly hotel-based. Pink salons and SM clubs are rare.

Most shops are small, individually owned or small chains. There's little aggressive touting, and the atmosphere is calm. Almost no shops cater to foreign tourists, and Japanese language ability is expected.

Access: 15-minute walk from Gifu Station, or take a bus to the "Yanagase" stop. Business hours are typically from evening to late night. Friday and Saturday nights are busiest.

For foreign visitors, it's practical to bring a Japanese-speaking companion or use delivery health to your hotel. Storefront fashion health shops often require ID, so bring your passport.
