Tajimi/Kani/Ena/Nakatsugawa

The Tajimi, Kani, Ena, and Nakatsugawa area is a group of inland cities in eastern Gifu Prefecture. It's about an hour from Nagoya on the Chuo Main Line, and also accessible by car, but it's not a well-known tourist destination and few foreigners visit. The station areas are quiet, typical of provincial cities, and foot traffic thins out at night.

Geographically, Tajimi is the largest, followed by Kani, Ena, and Nakatsugawa. The city centers are compact, with restaurants and shops within walking distance. However, there is no distinct red-light district; adult shops are scattered in residential areas or along main roads away from the stations.

The adult entertainment scene here is very small. There are a few soaplands in Tajimi and Kani, several delivery health shops in each city, and a handful of pink salons in Tajimi. Fashion health, hotel health, SM clubs, and erotic massage are virtually nonexistent. Prices are slightly lower than in big cities: soaplands around ¥10,000 for 30 minutes, delivery health around ¥8,000 for 20 minutes.

Most shops are individually owned, and some don't have websites. Foreigner-friendly service is almost nonexistent; if you don't speak Japanese, you'll likely be turned away. Many shops require advance reservations, making walk-ins difficult.

Access: from Nagoya, take the JR Chuo Main Line to Tajimi (about 40 min), Kani (50 min), Ena/Nakatsugawa (1.5 hours). By car, use the Chuo Expressway. Business hours vary, but soaplands typically operate from noon to midnight, delivery health from evening to 2 AM.

For foreign tourists, using adult services in this area is challenging. Unless you're fluent in Japanese, it's more practical to enjoy yourself in a major city like Nagoya or Tokyo. If you must visit, research shops that accept foreigners in advance and make a reservation by phone or email.
