The Nagasaki Prefectural Office is in Onoue-machi, Nagasaki City. The city's official tourism site calls the Shianbashi area, in Aburaya-machi and Moto-shikkui-machi, Nagasaki's leading downtown and its representative entertainment district. Take the tram from Nagasaki Station toward Sofukuji and get off at Shianbashi, about 12 minutes.
The name Shianbashi, 'bridge of hesitation', is said to come from people pausing there over whether to go on to the nearby Maruyama pleasure quarter or turn back. The river has been filled in and only railing traces remain beside the road. Sasebo, Isahaya and Omura are the other areas this site covers.
Article 28 of the Entertainment Business Act bans store-based adult businesses within 200 metres of government office complexes, schools, libraries, child welfare facilities and similar sites, and lets prefectures add prohibited areas by ordinance. Where these businesses may operate in Nagasaki is set by the prefecture's own ordinance.
Walk-in formats such as soaplands may operate only where the ordinance allows them. Delivery health is an outcall format used at a hotel or another place you choose, and the area on this site marks the venue's reception or base.
The Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen opened between Takeo-Onsen and Nagasaki on 23 September 2022 and works as a relay: at Takeo-Onsen you change between the Relay Kamome limited express and the Shinkansen Kamome on the same platform. Hakata to Nagasaki takes 1 hour 20 minutes at the fastest.
From Nagasaki Airport, airport buses run to Nagasaki Station, Sasebo Station, Isahaya Station, Huis Ten Bosch and Omura Terminal. Arrivals can run late in heavy traffic, so check times on the airport's timetable.
