Stepping into Shimane Prefecture, you feel the rough waves of the Sea of Japan and the breath of mythology. The Horikawa river in Matsue and the solemn atmosphere of Izumo Taisha show that this area is full of tourist charm. But when it comes to the nightlife, it's a different story.

Geographically, it's located in the northwestern part of the Chugoku region, bordering Tottori and Hiroshima prefectures. The main cities are the prefectural capital Matsue and Izumo, famous for Izumo Taisha. Adult venues are very few, existing only in the downtown areas of these cities.

The adult scene in Shimane is not flashy. The main categories are delivery health (deliheru) and hotel health (hoteheru), with only a handful of shops each. For access, it's best to base yourself at a hotel within walking distance of Matsue Station or Izumoshi Station. Deliheru typically call to your hotel, while hoteheru services are provided at love hotels. Japanese language ability is often necessary, and English support is not expected.

If you visit, weekends have higher shop activity than weeknights. Reservations are essential, usually by phone on the same day. For foreign tourists, this is a high hurdle. If you really want to use these services, bring a Japanese-speaking friend or call ahead to confirm.
