Shimbashi, in Tokyo's Minato Ward, is known for traditional izakaya in the alleys around its station. JR Shimbashi Station on the Yamanote, Keihin-Tohoku and Tokaido lines is the hub, and dining arches run under the tracks toward Yurakucho.
According to GO TOKYO, Shimbashi Station is served by the JR Yamanote, Keihin-Tohoku and Tokaido lines. The same page describes Hibiya OKUROJI, a 300-meter stretch of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops beneath the tracks between Shimbashi and Yurakucho, which is a handy reference point when walking between the two stations.
GO TOKYO writes that the alleyways around Shimbashi Station hold many traditional-style izakaya serving drinks and light meals, naming Shimbashi Yokocho and Yurakucho Yokocho. Its nightlife page also suggests exploring the lanes and alleys of downtown areas like Shinbashi.
There is no venue from the Ginza/Shinbashi Area on this site yet. When listings arrive they will also be shown on the Shimbashi page. What this site lists in Tokyo at present is gathered on the Tokyo page.
Shimbashi 1-chome to 4-chome are among the blocks the Metropolitan Police Department shows as Minato Ward touting zones, in a list last updated at the end of March 2016. The police explain that in public places there, both touting tied to adult businesses and waiting for the other party in a way visible to the public are covered by the rule.
It depends on the venue. Each venue page lists the languages it handles, and the “English OK” filter in search narrows results to venues with English support.
Payment methods vary by venue. Check the listing and confirm with the venue before booking.
