Yamagata City

Yamagata City has a Shinkansen stop, but its adult nightlife district is small. The station-front entertainment area has izakayas and snack bars, but adult venues are scattered in inconspicuous spots.

Geographically, the area centers around JR Yamagata Station, with restaurants concentrated on Ekimae-dori and Nanukamachi-dori. Adult shops are quietly tucked away in multi-tenant buildings and back alleys within walking distance of the station.

Access is within walking distance from JR Yamagata Station, but since shops are scattered, a taxi is convenient. Peak hours are after 8 PM. Foreign visitors should note that many shops do not cater to non-Japanese speakers.
