Also known as tenjin-/-oyafuko-dori
Tenjin / Oyafuko-dori is an area in Fukuoka's Chuo Ward. JNTO describes Tenjin as the district around Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station, with Oyafuko Street lying to its north.
An underground passage links Tenjin Station on the Kuko subway line with Tenjin-Minami Station on the Nanakuma Line, and Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station and the Nishitetsu Tenjin Express Bus Terminal are in the same area. Fukuoka Airport says the subway takes about 10 minutes from Tenjin. From the street, lifts in City Hall, Hakata Daimaru, Parco (new building) and other buildings lead down to the station.
According to JNTO, Tenjin spreads out from Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station, with Watanabe-dori to the east, Daimyo to the west and Oyafuko Street to the north. The second schedule of Fukuoka Prefecture's adult-information ordinance names Daimyo 1-chome and 2-chome, Tenjin 1-chome to 3-chome, Nishinakasu and Maizuru in Chuo Ward.
Listings for Tenjin / Oyafuko-dori are still to come, and those added will appear on this page. The Fukuoka City, Chuo Ward page has none yet, so please use the Fukuoka page for listings in the prefecture.
Under a Fukuoka City ordinance that applies citywide rather than to set zones, touting, enticing or hanging about for customers on streets, at stations and in other public spaces is prohibited. The prefectural adult-information ordinance keeps referral services for hospitality businesses closed between midnight and 6 a.m., and in second-schedule areas such as Tenjin 1-chome to 3-chome and Daimyo 1-chome and 2-chome it allows them until 1 a.m. on certain days only.
