Southern Kyoto Prefecture spans from southern Kyoto City to Uji and Jōyō, with soaplands, delivery health, and pink salons scattered along major roads. A practical red-light area away from tourist spots.

The red-light district of Southern Kyoto Prefecture has a completely different face from the tourist-packed Gion or Kawaramachi. Neon lights flicker sporadically along main roads, serving mostly local men and business travelers. It's not flashy, but practical services are available.
Geographically, shops concentrate along Kujo-dori in Minami-ku, Route 24 in Uji, and prefectural roads in Jōyō. Since it's away from tourist spots, access is mainly by car or taxi.
The adult scene here centers on soaplands, with prices ranging from ¥15,000 to ¥30,000 per hour. Delivery health is also common, dispatching girls to hotels. Pink salons are few but offer quick, cheap fun. SM clubs and erotic massage exist but are limited.
Overall, the number of shops is not large, and they are not densely packed. There are a few shops near Kyoto Station, but across the southern area, the scale is moderate. Prices are slightly cheaper than in Osaka or Tokyo, with a locally-oriented business style.
Access: from JR Kyoto Station, take the Nara Line to Uji Station (about 20 min), or use the Kintetsu Kyoto Line. By car, the Kyoto Minami IC on the Meishin Expressway is convenient. Business hours are generally from afternoon to late night, with weekends being busy.
This area is little known to foreign tourists, and some shops may not accept non-Japanese speakers. It's advisable to research English-friendly shops in advance or go with a Japanese friend. Many shops are cash-only, so bring cash.
It depends on the venue. Each venue page lists the languages it handles, and the “English OK” filter in search narrows results to venues with English support.
Payment methods vary by venue. Check the listing and confirm with the venue before booking.
