Kyoto's nightlife has a different face from the tourist-packed Gion and Kawaramachi. Adult venues are scattered across the city, but not concentrated in a single red-light district.

Geographically, hotel health and delivery health shops are common around Kyoto Station and Shijo Kawaramachi. However, there is no large-scale adult district like Tokyo's Kabukicho or Osaka's Minami.

The adult industry in Kyoto is mainly delivery health (deliheru) and hotel health (hoteheru). There are no soaplands in the city; you need to go to neighboring Osaka or Shiga prefectures. Prices for delivery health range from 15,000 to 20,000 yen for 60 minutes.

There are also a few pink salons and SM clubs, but numbers are limited. Some erotic massage (ero esthe) shops cater to foreign tourists, but Japanese language support is standard.

Access is via city bus or subway from Kyoto Station. Operating hours are often until midnight. ID is required; foreigners may need to show their passport.

Kyoto has strict regulations on adult businesses due to its tourist image, so storefront services are rare. For delivery health, calling to a hotel is common, and advance phone reservation is needed. English support is limited, so be cautious if you don't speak Japanese.
