Yamashina lies on the eastern side of Kyoto City; the tourism association describes it as a small basin, long from north to south and surrounded by mountains on three sides.
According to the tourism association, Yamashina Station is one stop from JR Kyoto Station. The city's housing information site calls the area around the station a transport hub where JR, the Kyoto Municipal Subway and Keihan meet.
That housing site also lists historic sites near Yamashina Station, among them the tomb of Emperor Tenji, the remains of Yamashina Honganji and Bishamondo temple. Together with the basin setting, it presents the district as a town with a long history.
There is nothing to show on this page yet; new listings would appear here. Kyoto's listings are collected on the Kyoto City page, with further listings on the Kawaramachi/Kiyamachi/Pontocho and Karasuma / Omiya / Nishin pages.
The no-touting zones set under Kyoto City's ordinance cover the Gion–Kawaramachi district, the Higashinotoin-Nishikikoji area, the north side of Kyoto Station and a few others; Yamashina is not one of them. The city publishes the list and the boundaries on its website.
It depends on the venue. Each venue page lists the languages it handles, and the “English OK” filter in search narrows results to venues with English support.
Payment methods vary by venue. Check the listing and confirm with the venue before booking.
