Karasuma, Omiya and Saiin are three Hankyu Kyoto Line stations in a row along Shijo-dori in Kyoto, the stretch west of the Kawaramachi entertainment district. They are also the transfer points to the subway and the Randen tram.
From its Kyoto-kawaramachi terminus the Hankyu Kyoto Line stops at Karasuma, Omiya and Saiin in that order heading west. Karasuma Station is linked to Shijo Station on the Karasuma subway line by the underpass beneath Shijo-dori, so from Kyoto Station it is one subway ride with no change.
Omiya Station sits beside Shijo-Omiya, the starting point of the Randen tram (Keifuku Arashiyama Line). Saiin has had a direct platform connection to the Randen Saiin stop since March 2017. Note that Randen reads the name as "Sai" and Hankyu as "Saiin", so the announcements differ.
Shijo-dori is the spine, with Karasuma, Omiya and Saiin in that order from east to west, each a little further from the Kawaramachi entertainment district. Each of the three stations has a different transfer, so navigate by the station and exit named on the venue page.

Since 1 April 2015 a Kyoto city ordinance has required businesses across the whole city not to tout or have others tout for them. The designated no-touting zones are the Gion-Kawaramachi zone, the area around Higashinotoin-Nishikikoji and the north side of Kyoto Station; the Higashinotoin-Nishikikoji area lies just east of Karasuma Station. Violations go through guidance, a recommendation and an order, then a fine of up to 50,000 yen and publication of the shop's name.
