Katsura is a Kyoto neighbourhood served by Hankyu's Katsura Station and JR's Katsuragawa Station, which the city's housing information site describes as a quiet residential area.
From Kyoto Station, the tourism association's route is the Karasuma subway line to Shijo, then Hankyu from Karasuma Station to Katsura. Hankyu's Katsura Station is also where the Arashiyama Line begins, so travellers heading for Arashiyama change trains here. JR Kyoto Line trains stop at Katsuragawa, also in the area.
The city's housing site says many families live in Katsura and calls it a quiet residential district, naming its two stations, Katsura on the Hankyu Kyoto Line and Katsuragawa on the JR Kyoto Line, as part of its appeal.
Katsura has no listings at present; anything added later appears on this page. Listings across Kyoto are on the Kyoto City page, and inside the city the Kawaramachi/Kiyamachi/Pontocho and Karasuma / Omiya / Nishin pages carry listings.
Kyoto City's no-touting zones include the Gion–Kawaramachi district, the Higashinotoin-Nishikikoji area and the north side of Kyoto Station, and Katsura is not among them. The city ordinance behind these zones has applied since 1 April 2015.
It depends on the venue. Each venue page lists the languages it handles, and the “English OK” filter in search narrows results to venues with English support.
Payment methods vary by venue. Check the listing and confirm with the venue before booking.
