Gondo, Nagano Station Front

Walking through the Gondo arcade, you'll see rows of snack bars and pubs with a Showa-era atmosphere, bustling with local office workers and tourists. This area stretching from Nagano Station front is a normal shopping street by day, but at night neon lights up and adult venue signs become prominent.

Geographically, it spreads along Chuo-dori from Nagano Station toward Zenkoji Temple, centered on the Gondo arcade. The station front has many hotels and restaurants, while back alleys in Gondo are dense with adult shops. It's a compact area you can cover on foot.

The adult entertainment district is medium-sized for a regional city. There are a few soaplands, over a dozen fashion health shops, and many delivery health services. Prices are slightly cheaper than Tokyo: soaplands around 20,000 yen per hour, fashion health around 15,000 yen per hour. Both storefront and hotel-based services exist, with many using love hotels near the station.

For foreign visitors, soaplands may refuse entry, but fashion health and delivery health are more accommodating. Many shops require Japanese language ability, but some accept foreigners. It's best to confirm by phone or email in advance.

Access is a 5-10 minute walk from Nagano Station. Business hours vary: soaplands typically noon to midnight, health services from evening to around 2 AM. Fridays and Saturdays are busy, so reservations are recommended.

A word of caution: police occasionally crack down in the Gondo area, so responding to touts can lead to trouble. Choose legitimate shops and watch out for overcharging. Most adult venues do not accept credit cards, so bring cash.
