Atami/Izu

Atami and Izu are hot spring resorts about 40 minutes from Tokyo by Shinkansen. During the day, they're bustling with tourists, but at night the atmosphere becomes calm. Adult venues are scattered in alleys near stations and hot spring towns, mainly catering to tourists.

Geographically, the area splits into Atami Station vicinity and major Izu hot spring towns like Ito and Shimoda. Atami is a hilly town with many hotels within walking distance of the station. Izu's hot spring towns stretch along the coastline, and a car is essential for getting around.

The adult scene here is dominated by delivery health (delihe) and hotel health (hoteheru). There are almost no storefront soaplands or fashion health. Prices are slightly cheaper than Tokyo, around ¥10,000–20,000 for 60 minutes. Some shops offer tourist discounts.

Delivery health sends girls to your hotel or inn, while hotel health provides service at partner hotels. Advance reservation is standard; walk-ins are rare. If you don't speak Japanese, look for shops that advertise English support.

Access: From Tokyo, take the Shinkansen to Atami (40 min). For Izu, use the Limited Express Odoriko or Izu Kyuko Line. By car, take the Tomei Expressway. Shop hours are generally from afternoon until late night.

Foreign tourists will find it hard to get info from hotel front desks or tourist info centers. Best to research shops online beforehand and book by phone or email. English-friendly shops are limited, so a Japanese-speaking companion or translation app helps.
