Gotemba

Step into Gotemba, and the first thing you see is the majestic view of Mount Fuji. This city, bustling with tourists at its outlet mall and known as a base for climbing Fuji, is well-equipped for daytime sightseeing. But when it comes to nightlife entertainment, it's a different story.

Around Gotemba Station, there are restaurants and izakayas scattered about, but there is no red-light district to speak of. In Shizuoka Prefecture, adult venues are concentrated in Numazu and Hamamatsu; Gotemba is outside that zone.

This area has virtually no soaplands, delivery health, fashion health, pink salons, SM clubs, dating clubs, or erotic massage parlors. If a few shops exist, they are small, privately-run operations, not easily accessible for foreign tourists.

Visiting Gotemba for adult entertainment is not worthwhile. If you must, you'll need to travel to Numazu, Mishima, or even Tokyo. It's wise to treat Gotemba as a place for Fuji sightseeing and outlet shopping.

Access: From Tokyo, take the Shinkansen to Mishima Station, then a local train for about 30 minutes. By car, use the Gotemba IC on the Tomei Expressway. Taxis are available at night, but not recommended for seeking adult venues.

Advice for foreign visitors: Don't expect adult services in Gotemba. If absolutely necessary, research Numazu or Tokyo beforehand.
