Shimada

Step out of Shimada Station and you're in a quiet residential area. There's no flashy entertainment district for tourists—just local shops and eateries scattered around. At night, foot traffic thins out and silence takes over.

About a 10-minute walk from Shimada Station, along National Route 1, you'll find a few soaplands lined up. Locals know this stretch as "Shimada Soapland Street," but it's small-scale with modest signage. Love hotels are also scattered nearby.

The adult scene in Shimada is centered on soaplands. There are fewer than ten shops, all small, independently owned or chain branches. Prices range from ¥12,000 to ¥20,000 for 60 minutes—slightly cheaper than in big cities. Services are standard soapland fare, with few special options.

Other adult venue categories are almost nonexistent. A couple of delivery health and fashion health shops exist, but no concentration like the soaplands. Pink salons and SM clubs are absent. This area is strictly for soapland visits.

For foreign visitors, Shimada's soaplands can be challenging. Most shops are Japanese-only and many reject foreigners. It's best to call ahead or go with a Japanese friend. The area is within walking distance from the station, but it's dark at night, so stay alert.

Visit on weekday evenings to avoid crowds. Weekends are busy with regulars. Most shops are cash-only, so bring enough yen. Credit cards are not accepted.
