Machida/Tama

Exit the north exit of Machida Station, and you'll find a messy drinking district. This area, bustling with students and young office workers, has a more down-to-earth atmosphere compared to central Tokyo.

The center of the area is Machida Station, where the Odakyu Line and JR Yokohama Line intersect. The station surroundings are dense with commercial facilities and restaurants, and neon lights come on at night. The Tama area extends further west as a residential zone, with shops scattered around.

As for the adult entertainment scene, delivery health and hotel health guide offices line the back alleys a few minutes' walk from the north exit of Machida Station. There are also a few pink salons, with prices 20-30% cheaper than central Tokyo. Delivery health typically costs 12,000 yen for 60 minutes, and pink salons around 3,000 yen for 15 minutes.

Many shops are individually operated, with few chain stores. Service is friendly, making it easy for first-timers to enter. However, foreigner-friendly services are limited, so if you don't speak Japanese, prior confirmation is necessary.

Access is about 30 minutes from Shinjuku on the Odakyu Line. Note that last trains are early at night. Friday and Saturday nights are the busiest, but weekends can be crowded.

This area has few foreign customers, but if you can speak Japanese, it's fine. Some shops have photo menus. Many shops are cash-only, so bring cash.
