Arochi

Shinnai (Arochi) is an entertainment district located a short distance from the center of Wakayama City. During the day it's a quiet residential area, but at night the neon lights come on and the atmosphere changes completely.

The area stretches north-south, with shops lining the main street. It's about a 15-minute walk from Wakayama Station, or a 5-minute taxi ride.

The adult entertainment scene in Arochi is centered around soaplands. There are about 20 soaplands clustered together, with prices ranging from 15,000 to 30,000 yen per hour. There are also a few delivery health and fashion health shops that offer dispatch services to hotels.

Most soaplands offer full-service with private bathrooms. Delivery health services are typically dispatched to hotels, so you need to have a hotel room ready. Fashion health is more basic and cheaper.

Foreign tourists may be turned away if they don't speak Japanese. Soaplands especially tend to prioritize Japanese customers. Delivery health and fashion health may be more accommodating, but it's best to call ahead to confirm.

Operating hours for most shops are from 10 AM to midnight. Weekends are busy, so reservations are essential. There are also restaurants and convenience stores in the area where you can wait.
