Ota

Ota is an industrial city in eastern Gunma Prefecture, home to many auto-related factories. During the day it's busy with business travelers and factory workers, but at night neon lights flicker along the national highways, revealing adult businesses.

Geographically, shops are scattered along Route 407 north of Ota Station and Route 354 to the south. The station area has many restaurants and izakayas, while adult venues are concentrated on roadside strips a bit further out.

The adult scene is dominated by delivery health and hotel health. Dozens of hotel health shops along the highway partner with love hotels, charging ¥12,000–18,000 for 60 minutes. Access is via JR Ryomo Line or Tobu Isesaki Line. From Tokyo, take a limited express from Ueno (about 1.5 hours). A car is convenient, and most shops have parking. Weekday evenings are best; weekends get crowded with locals.
