Miyakonojo City

Miyakonojo City is an inland city in southwestern Miyazaki Prefecture, bordering Kagoshima Prefecture. It sits in a basin surrounded by the Kyushu Mountains and is known for its agriculture and livestock industry. There is no red-light district or nightlife area to speak of; the streets are quiet after dark.

Geographically, it lies about 50 km southwest of Miyazaki City and 60 km northeast of Kagoshima City. The main station is JR Nippo Main Line's Miyakonojo Station, with a few restaurants and shops nearby, but no major entertainment zone.
