Akihabara is a Tokyo district that grew out of a postwar black market and is now lined with electronic-parts shops and large electronics stores. Its station gathers JR, Tokyo Metro and Tsukuba Express trains.
GO TOKYO lists the JR Yamanote, Keihin-Tohoku and Sobu lines, the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line and the Tsukuba Express at Akihabara Station. The same page puts the ride from Tokyo Station at four minutes on the Yamanote Line.
GO TOKYO tells Akihabara's story as a center of postwar black-market trade that later turned into a showcase for Japanese technology. Hobby shops are tucked between streets crowded with electronic-parts stores, and big electronics retailers stand along the avenues, so the district is laid out for walking from street to street.
Nothing in the Akihabara/Kanda area is listed on this site yet. Once a listing is added it will appear here and on the Akihabara/Kanda page; the venues currently listed in the capital can be reached from the Tokyo page.
For Chiyoda Ward, the blocks the Metropolitan Police Department publishes as designated touting zones are Uchikanda 3-chome, Kajicho 1-chome and 2-chome and Kanda-Kajicho 3-chome (page updated 31 March 2016). Sotokanda and Akihabara are not on that table. On streets and other public places in the named blocks, Tokyo's nuisance-prevention ordinance restricts touting for indecent acts connected with adult businesses.
It depends on the venue. Each venue page lists the languages it handles, and the “English OK” filter in search narrows results to venues with English support.
Payment methods vary by venue. Check the listing and confirm with the venue before booking.
