Hongo / Around the University of Tokyo

Hongo and the area around the University of Tokyo is an educational district centered on the university's main campus. During the day it's bustling with students and researchers, but at night it becomes a quiet residential area.

The center of the area is the Hongo-sanchome intersection where Hongo-dori and Kasuga-dori cross. The nearest station is Hongo-sanchome on the Marunouchi and Oedo subway lines. Landmarks include the university's Red Gate and Yasuda Auditorium, with secondhand bookstores and student-oriented eateries scattered around.

There is almost no concentration of adult venues. Only a few delivery health (deliheru) shops exist here. Storefront facilities like soaplands, fashion health, or pink salons are absent.

Delivery health prices range from ¥12,000 to ¥18,000 for 60 minutes, slightly cheaper than central Tokyo. However, the number of shops is small, and options are limited. Shops that accept foreign customers are even rarer, so advance confirmation is necessary.

Access is good, but the area is not worth visiting specifically for adult entertainment. If you want to enjoy nearby nightlife, it's better to go to Akihabara or Kanda.

This area is purely an educational district and has no character as a nightlife entertainment zone. It suits those who want a quiet, calm time, but if you're seeking an active adult experience, choose another area.
