Ueno/Okachimachi/Yushima

Exit Ueno Station's Park Exit and you're hit by a crowd of tourists and commuters. But walk toward Okachimachi, and you'll find drinking alleys and backstreets that still smell of Showa. At night, neon signs flicker on, and the area fills with local salarymen and regulars.

The area centers on Ueno Station, extending to Okachimachi and Yushima Stations. Ameyoko shopping street and Ueno Park are famous, but the adult district is scattered a short walk from the stations. Especially around Yushima's slopes and under the Okachimachi railway bridge, old-school shops operate quietly.

Delivery health and pink salons are the main adult venue types here. Delivery health is mostly hotel dispatch type, with rates starting around ¥10,000 for 60 minutes. Pink salons are short-time, low-cost, typically ¥5,000 for 30 minutes. Few shops accept foreigners, but if you speak Japanese, it's easier.

There are also a few SM clubs and erotic massage shops, but numbers are small. No soaplands in this area—those are in neighboring Yoshiwara. Overall, this is not a tourist-oriented red-light district but a practical, local-focused adult entertainment zone.

Access is within walking distance from JR Ueno or Okachimachi Station. Business hours vary, but delivery health operates late into the night, while pink salons are busiest from evening to midnight. For foreign visitors, if you don't speak Japanese, it's best to call or email ahead to check.

Note that touts are rare here, and some shops require a referral or membership. Many shops don't accept credit cards, so bring cash.
