Kanayama

Exit the south gate of Kanayama Station and neon signs hit you immediately. With the station rotary at your back, narrow alleys stretch out, lined with adult shops. By day it's an office district, but at night touts appear and suited men quickly disappear into the alleys.

Kanayama is one stop from Nagoya Station on the JR Tokaido Line, also accessible via the Meijo subway line. The area centers on the station, split between Atsuta Ward to the south and Naka Ward to the north. The main adult district is on the south side, mixed with restaurants and izakayas.

The core of the adult scene is soaplands, with over 20 shops within a 5-minute walk from the station. Prices start around ¥20,000 for 60 minutes, with high-end shops exceeding ¥30,000. Delivery health and fashion health are also common, with many delivery health services operating as hotel health using nearby hotels. There are also a few pink salons for quick, affordable visits.

Soaplands are concentrated in an area called "Kanayama-yu," mixing old-style establishments with newer buildings. Delivery health shops have offices in station-front buildings, dispatching girls by phone. Fashion health is often located in multi-tenant buildings near the station.

For foreign visitors, soaplands are the most popular but may refuse service if you don't speak Japanese. Delivery health and fashion health are more accommodating, but advance phone confirmation is needed. English-friendly shops are limited, so going with a Japanese-speaking friend or using an introduction service is recommended.

Business hours vary by shop, but soaplands typically operate from noon to around midnight. Many delivery health services stay open until 2 AM. Weekends, especially Friday and Saturday nights, are crowded, so reservations are essential. Coin parking is available near the station, but watch out for drinking and driving.
