Tsuchiura

When you exit Tsuchiura Station, taxis line up in the rotary in front of the station, and local business travelers and tourists come and go. The station building and shopping streets are lively, but step into a side alley and quiet residential areas spread out.

A few minutes' walk from the west exit of the station, several soaplands are clustered together. Also, delivery health (deliheru) shops are scattered around the station, with the main style being dispatch to hotels.

Tsuchiura's adult entertainment district is not large, but there are 3–4 soaplands and about 10 delivery health shops operating. Prices are 15,000–25,000 yen for 60 minutes at soaplands, and 10,000–18,000 yen for 60 minutes at delivery health, about 20–30% cheaper than in the city center.

Most shops are locally oriented and tend to value regular customers over tourists. Therefore, it's good to choose a shop that responds politely even on a first visit.

Access is about 1 hour from Ueno on the JR Joban Line. Since it's within walking distance from the station, you don't need a car. Many shops are open from noon to around midnight.

For foreign tourists, I recommend checking in advance which shops have Japanese-speaking staff. Also, note that for delivery health, you need to arrange a hotel yourself.
