Kawasaki Station area

Exit the east side of Kawasaki Station, and you'll find a bustling entertainment district with bars and pachinko parlors. Step into a side street, and the neon signs give way to nondescript buildings—this is Kawasaki's red-light district.

The area is mainly on the east side of the station, close to Keikyu Kawasaki Station. Most shops are within a 5-minute walk, making it easy to navigate even for first-timers. On backstreets off the main road, you'll find soaplands and fashion health shops with discreet signage.

The adult scene here centers on soaplands, but fashion health and delivery health are also plentiful. Soaplands are relatively affordable, with some starting around ¥20,000. Fashion health is even cheaper, from ¥10,000–15,000. Delivery health is mostly hotel-call type, often cooperating with nearby love hotels.

Shops are mostly small to medium-sized, with few touts or aggressive advertising. The atmosphere is businesslike, catering to local salarymen and tourists. English-friendly shops are increasing but not universal.

Access is excellent: 15 minutes from Tokyo on the JR Keihin-Tohoku Line, 10 minutes from Yokohama. The station has shopping complexes, so waiting time is easy to kill. Weekday evenings are best; weekends get crowded.

Note that police patrols are relatively active here. Never follow unlicensed touts—use only legitimate shops. Some soaplands may refuse non-Japanese speakers, so check in advance.
