Yokohama, Kawasaki and the main towns

The prefectural office stands at Nihon-odori in Yokohama's Naka ward, and Kanagawa is the only prefecture in Japan with three designated cities: Yokohama, Kawasaki and Sagamihara. The prefecture describes its land in three parts: mountains in the west, plains and plateaus in the middle, and hills and coast in the east.

Yokohama's tourism site describes Noge, across Sakuragicho Station from Minato Mirai, as a self-styled 'drinkers' town' lined with casual izakaya and restaurants. From the north exit of Kannai Station, the Isezakicho shopping street has led towards the port since the port opened. Kawasaki City treats the Kawasaki Station area as its gateway and its central hub.

Where the ordinance allows venues

Article 28 of the Entertainment Business Act bans storefront sex businesses within 200 metres of schools, libraries, child welfare facilities and similar sites, and lets each prefecture add prohibited areas by ordinance. In the Kanagawa police summary of the prefectural ordinance, the prohibited area for soaplands (type 1) and storefront fashion health (type 2) is the whole prefecture.

Reception offices for delivery health are also banned across the prefecture, and the police state that no new reception office may be opened in Kanagawa. Article 28(3) of the Act, however, exempts a business that had already filed its notification and was operating when the rule took effect or began to apply.

Walk-in formats such as soaplands are therefore limited to venues operating under that transitional rule. Delivery health is an outcall format used at a hotel or another place you choose; its area usually marks the venue's reception or base, and the service range differs by venue.

Access

According to the Japan National Tourism Organization, Yokohama is about 30 minutes from Tokyo on the JR Yokosuka Line and other local lines, and Kawasaki about 18 minutes from Tokyo Station or 8 minutes from Yokohama Station on the JR Tokaido Line. Yokohama's tourism site gives about 27 minutes from Haneda to Yokohama Station by Keikyu and about 90 minutes from Narita by Narita Express.

From Kansai or Chubu, Shin-Yokohama on the Tokaido Shinkansen is the entry point; the Yokohama Convention & Visitors Bureau puts Kyoto and Osaka about 2 hours away. For Hakone, the route JNTO gives is the Tokaido Shinkansen to Odawara and then the Hakone Tozan Railway.

This site divides Kanagawa into eight parts: Yokohama, Kawasaki, Kamakura/Shonan, Hakone/Yugawara, Odawara Area, Yokosuka/Zushi/Hayama/Miura, Ebina/Atsugi Area and Sagamihara/Yamato Area. Inside Yokohama the areas follow stations: Yokohama Station Area, Kannai/Isezakicho, Sakuragicho, Minato Mirai, Shin-Yokohama Station Area, Kamiooka/Nagaya, Totsuka/Higashi-Totsuka, Tsurumi and more.

Kawasaki includes Kawasaki Station area, Nakahara Ward (Musashi-Kosugi), Takatsu Ward (Mizonokuchi) and Kawasaki Ward, Others; Kamakura/Shonan covers Kamakura, Enoshima, Ofuna/Fujisawa, Tsujido/Chigasaki, Shonandai, Hiratsuka and Oiso/Ninomiya. Others include Hakone, Yugawara/Manazuru, Odawara, Yokosuka City, Zushi/Hayama, Miura Kaigan/Misaki, Ebina City, Atsugi City, Sagamihara City, Yamato City and Zama City.
