Sakai, Sakaihigashi, Nakamozu

Exit the north gate of Sakaihigashi Station, and you'll see a mix of multi-tenant buildings and shops. During the day it's a normal commercial area, but at night neon lights up and adult shop signs become noticeable. Local office workers and regulars pass through; there's no touristy glamour, but a practical atmosphere prevails.

The area centers on Sakaihigashi Station, with shops also scattered around Sakai Station and Nakamozu Station. The Nankai Koya Line and JR Hanwa Line provide decent access from Osaka city. Many restaurants and izakayas near the stations make it convenient for meeting up or killing time.

The adult entertainment district is medium-sized, with a few soaplands, over a dozen delivery health shops, and several pink salons. Soaplands are concentrated in the back alleys north of Sakaihigashi Station, with prices starting around ¥10,000 for 30 minutes — relatively reasonable. Delivery health shops often operate as hotel health, using nearby hotels, with rates around ¥10,000–¥20,000 per 60 minutes. Pink salons are in multi-tenant buildings near the station, offering quick and easy service.

Few shops cater to foreign tourists; Japanese language ability is generally assumed. Shops with English support are limited, so check in advance. Soaplands often require ID at entry; a passport works, but refusal is possible.

Weekday nights are best. Weekends get crowded with locals, and wait times can occur. Many shops around Sakaihigashi Station operate late, but aim to leave before the last train. For taxis, the station taxi stand is convenient.

Watch out for scouts and touts near the station — just ignore them. Most shops are cash-only, so bring plenty of cash. Credit cards are rarely accepted.
