Takadanobaba

Takadanobaba is a lively student town bustling with Waseda University students. Among the izakayas and ramen shops near the station, adult venues operate quietly on the backstreets.

Geographically, it's a terminal station on the JR Yamanote Line and Seibu Shinjuku Line. Shops are scattered along Waseda-dori and Meiji-dori, with a concentration in the alleys west of the station.

In the adult industry, there are a few soaplands, over a dozen delivery health shops, and several pink salons. Prices are slightly cheaper than central Tokyo: soaplands around ¥10,000 for 30 minutes, delivery health from ¥10,000 for 60 minutes. Due to the student area, many shops employ young women.

For foreign tourists, some shops don't speak Japanese, so it's safer to check for foreigner-friendly shops in advance. Pink salons are quick and easy, but almost no English menus.

Access is within walking distance from JR Takadanobaba Station. Business hours vary, but soaplands operate from afternoon to late night, delivery health mainly at night. Weekends are crowded, so reservations are recommended.

A word of caution: don't follow touts on the street. Legitimate shops are often on upper floors; ground-floor shops can be sketchy. Many shops don't accept credit cards, so bring plenty of cash.
