Takadanobaba is a part of Shinjuku Ward that the ward describes as full of schools, with students giving the town its energy. Waseda-dori runs from JR Yamanote Line Takadanobaba Station toward Waseda University.
The Shinjuku tourism association names Takadanobaba as a JR Yamanote Line station. According to the association, Waseda-dori heads from Takadanobaba toward Waseda University, which makes it the reference road when walking from the station in the Waseda direction.
Shinjuku Ward introduces the stretch from Takadanobaba to Waseda as an area with many schools, where students bring life to the streets, and mentions the Astro Boy mural honouring the character's Takadanobaba birthplace. The Shinjuku tourism association points to the used-book shops along Waseda-dori, between Takadanobaba and the university.
