Kinshicho

Getting there

Kinshicho Station is served by JR Sobu Line rapid trains, Chuo-Sobu local trains and the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line. Sobu rapids run through from Tokyo Station, and it is one ride from the Chiba side too. The Hanzomon Line links it with Shibuya and Oshiage.

There is a bus terminal at the north exit, and the station has by far the highest passenger numbers of any in Sumida Ward. As the hub of eastern Tokyo, routes from Koto Ward and Chiba also converge here. Check first whether a venue page names the north or the south exit.

How the district is laid out

Sumida's city plan describes the area around Kinshicho Station as the centre of activity for the ward and eastern Tokyo, with commercial, business and entertainment facilities and Kinshi Park alongside. There are night venues in both Kinshi and Kotobashi, the districts Tokyo has designated under its touting rules, so check which exit a venue page names before you set off.

The business types RED LIGHT JAPAN lists in Kinshicho are shown in the venue list and categories on this page. Venue pages give guide prices, hours and the languages spoken.

Good to know

Under Tokyo's nuisance-prevention ordinance, Kinshi 2- to 4-chome and Kotobashi 2- to 4-chome in Sumida Ward are designated districts where touting, scouting and waiting for customers for sex-related businesses are banned. Since December 2016 Sumida Ward has also tightened its own ordinance against touting, waiting and scouting in specified areas. Do not follow anyone who approaches you on the street; contact venues directly through the details on their listings.
