Kanagawa/Higashi-Kanagawa

Higashi-Kanagawa is one stop from Yokohama Station on the Keikyu Main Line, or two stops on the JR Keihin-Tohoku Line. The station front has a small shopping street bustling with locals during the day. But at night, the atmosphere shifts. A few minutes' walk from the station, neon signs begin to glow in the alleyways.

The core of the area is a narrow street extending from the east exit. Along it, soaplands line up one after another. Most are two-story old buildings with a reception on the first floor and private rooms upstairs—a classic setup. Delivery health (deliheru) offices are also scattered around, offering dispatch services to hotels.

Higashi-Kanagawa's adult district is smaller than Yokohama's major nightlife areas like Noge or Isezakicho, but it has a more relaxed vibe. Soapland prices start around ¥10,000 for 30 minutes and ¥20,000 for 60 minutes. Delivery health is even more affordable, with many shops offering 60-minute courses from ¥10,000.

For foreign visitors, Higashi-Kanagawa is convenient to drop by during a Yokohama sightseeing trip. However, many soaplands explicitly state "Japanese only" or "Japanese language required." It's wise to check websites or call ahead. Delivery health, which sends girls to your hotel, may have a lower language barrier.

Access is a short walk from either Keikyu Higashi-Kanagawa Station or JR Higashi-Kanagawa Station. Convenience stores and restaurants near the station make it easy to kill time. Most shops operate from early afternoon until late night. Weekdays are less crowded than weekends.

A word of caution: the area mixes residential and commercial zones, so keep noise down and mind your manners. Touting is prohibited, but you might occasionally get approached. Ignore them and head straight to your chosen shop.
