Getting there

Osaka Metro Nippombashi is an interchange between the Sennichimae (S17) and Sakaisuji (K17) lines and connects to Kintetsu-Nippombashi; from the Kintetsu gates to the Sakaisuji Line takes about five minutes. Further south along Sakaisuji is Ebisucho on the Sakaisuji Line, at the southern end of Den Den Town.

From Namba Station, leave Midosuji Line exit 4 and walk east about five minutes; Nankai Namba's south exit is right beside it. If you are staying in Minami you can walk back and forth, and if you arrive from Kansai airport by Nankai you can drop in the same day.

How the district is laid out

The Nipponbashi-suji shopping street, better known as Den Den Town, is an arcade of about one kilometre along Sakaisuji. Once an electronics district, it now holds more than 150 specialist shops for anime, games, figures and electronic parts. It is a hobby street that continues on foot into the Namba entertainment district.

Under Osaka's prefectural ordinance, soapland baths, storefront fashion health shops and hotel-health reception offices may not operate anywhere in the prefecture, so venues listed in Nihonbashi are dispatch services such as delivery health that come to your hotel. Good to know

Osaka's city ordinance bans persistent touting in every public place in the city: approaching people who have refused, blocking their path, following them or loitering on the street. Because the service comes to where you stay, confirm first that your hotel allows visitors to rooms.
