Nishinakajima, Shin-Osaka and Higashi-Mikuni are three stations in a row on the Midosuji Line in Yodogawa Ward, Osaka. Built around the Shinkansen station at Shin-Osaka, the area is where business travellers and tourists stay.
The Osaka Metro Midosuji Line runs through Higashi-Mikuni (M12), Shin-Osaka (M13) and Nishinakajima-Minamigata (M14) in that order. Shin-Osaka handles the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen plus the JR Kyoto, JR Kobe and Takarazuka lines, and the Haruka limited express to Kansai International Airport. Nishinakajima-Minamigata is the transfer to Minamikata on the Hankyu Kyoto Line.
Umeda is three Midosuji Line stops from Shin-Osaka, and Shinsaibashi and Namba are on the same line with no change. Coming back late without a transfer is the main advantage of staying here. Allow about ten minutes to change from the Shinkansen to the Midosuji Line at Shin-Osaka.
Shin-Osaka is where the Shinkansen, conventional JR lines and the subway meet, and the area serves as a base to stay before or after a night out in Umeda or Minami. This is less an entertainment district than a place where you go back to your hotel and call from there.
Under Osaka's prefectural ordinance, soapland baths, storefront fashion health shops and hotel-health reception offices may not operate anywhere in the prefecture, so venues listed here are dispatch services such as delivery health that come to your hotel. The business types RED LIGHT JAPAN lists are shown in the venue list and categories on this page.
Before calling a dispatch service, check that your hotel allows visitors to rooms. Osaka's city ordinance bans persistent touting in every public place in the city: approaching people who have refused, blocking their path or following them. Contacting venues directly through the details on their listings is the sure way.
